Catalyst online, a WPP company, specializes in search marketing. I know what you're thinking...search marketing? What does that have to do with what I want to do? Well, it actually has a lot do with marketing/advertising even though the internship is specific to search. Catalyst is a great fit for anyone who wants to do marketing or advertising. I gained a lot of hands on work experience here helping out the paid search team with numerous campaigns. The work environment is fantastic; It's a relatively small company right now so I got the chance to know everyone really well and I learned a lot in the process.
My responsibilies included: researching, providing recommendations to improve campaigns, writing ad creative, taking notes at meetings(you get to sit in on them, just ask!), reporting, and more all for high profile brands. My supervisor and other members of the team valued my work and opinions. By the end of the internship I felt that I had accomplished a lot, learned a lot about an industry(search) I previously had little knowledge of, and made some great friends and connections in the process.
