I am very glad that WZLX was my first internship. Karlson & McKenzie in the Morning was a great start to my career. It is very low pressure, but what you do as an intern actually matters. I edited clips of the show to put on the website, helped find sound bytes to put on the show, accomodated guests to the show (such as ESPN Baseball Analyst Peter Gammons), and even appeared on the show multiple times, including once for almost five minutes. Both the producers and the on-air talent were easy to work with, and I even got to go to an NBA Draft Lottery Party for free, as well as a place with batting cages, go-carts, mini golf, and free barbecue food. I learned how to use ProTools editing software there, which has greatly helped me so far in most of the other internships I've had so far.
