City Lights' internship program was not very structured when I was an intern, but I think they are working to improve that. This internship was great because I was able to learn about various areas in the entertainment field. I read scripts for the Director of Acquisitions and Operations and learned how to writer "coverage" = the professional write-up of script analysis. Because I buddied up to the producer of the television show "Movies 101," he trust and relied on me so for the show I was: an on-set production assistant, transcriber of episodes, and observed editing sessions. My best advice is to constantly offer your help and work consistently for one or two people. Since employees are so busy they want someone who can accomplish a task efficiently and will use you repeatedly if you prove yourself. There's a lot of grunt work like running errands all over the city but the perks are great (editing sessions, seeing movie stars). Expect downtime and to really push for actual work, otherwise you will not gain from this internship.
