BrightMix was my first "real" job in Computer Science. I had done a lot of other projects before, but none on this scale. I was a bit scared at first wondering if I would like working about 400 miles away from home.
Though, right away I felt comfortable with BrightMix after meeting with the owners, Dusty and Kevin, at my interview.
Dusty and Kevin were very helpful and understanding of me throughout the whole internship process. For instance, when I was hired Dusty and Kevin offered to help pick out my apartment so that I would not have to spend my time doing that. They went and handled all the contracts for my stay over the summer so that when I arrived everything would be set.
They also understood the 3 wants of all interns: Food, Money, and Power.
1) Food: Lunch was provided everyday during the internship; which was awesome. I would actually look forward to coming into work each morning, wondering what we would have for lunch that day.
2) Money: The pay was also fantastic.
3) Power? They provided me with a brand new MacBook Pro to use during the internship along with jumbo monitors ... A lot of power to do any job!
mmmm... I only have fond memories.
