Working with a doctor at NYU is really a combination of what you make it and what they will allow you to do. My internship was basically just running tests for a new Alzheimer’s vaccine. However, there are some doctors who will let you do your own research if you come to them with a proposal. I also really enjoyed my internship because of the post grad who supervised my work. The hours are almost always negotiable and are really based on how much work you can do in a given amount of time. However, work can get very repetitive and tedious after a while. This internship is ideally suited for science fair competitions since many of the doctors have dealt with these competitions in the past.
