DO NOT. I REPEAT. DO NOT. INTERN AT THIS MAGAZINE!
This is the WORST internship I have ever had! Unless you want to be doing petty errands, do not step foot in 300 W 57th. Frequently forced to work through lunch. 12 hour days without a break. Not spoken to like a human. Unpaid and constantly spending my own money for superiors (often times not paid back). Supervisors are completely unsympathetic to the fact that students have full course loads in addition to the internship. Completely taken advantage of and no one in the office acknowledges your presence unless they need something. The environment is extremely immature and unprofessional. 30 year old's act like they're 18. If you like narcissists, go right ahead, work for Cosmo! This is slavery and HIGHLY illegal. What Hearst gets away with is unbelievable. I only stuck it out to have a big name on my resume. If I could go back in time, I would not have accepted it. Never sacrifice your health for an internship.
