This internship was wonderful. I have had retail pharmacy experience in the past, and I got more experience through this internship, but I also got much more. I was able to add onto my first year pharmacy school knowledge, and explore drug topics and disease states we have not covered yet. To me, this is invaluable knowledge gained, and I can only believe it will help me when I return for second year this fall. One perk that I thought was wonderful, was that we were allotted time within our 40-hour work week to complete our workbook, which focused on the drugs and disease states. In addition to the disease state and drug knowledge, all of the interns were also able to shadow two pharmacy district managers and a clinical specialist(my favorite experience); each for a day. In doing so, we got to experience the feel of different pharmacies, and different types of positions pharmacists can have within Supervalu Pharmacies. Overall, absolutely great internship. I highly recommend it.
