As design assistant, I had the honor of working very closely with Anne herself. On a day to day basis, I was expected to cater to her every whim (which included dropping everything at any time to do what she deemed as more important), clean up her dog's droppings from the carpet, and change light bulbs, all while single-handedly managing any and all production and making sure deadlines were met and dresses were beaded.
Sure, the $7 lunch stipend was nice, but as the unofficial production manager, I made far less than what an actual production manager would make. Taking 24 hours (3 days x 8 hours) off the top of every week as "internship hours" meant that I was making less than the minimum $7.25 an hour. In short, far too much work and stress for far too little pay.
If you do intern here, make sure you're in sales or PR. Campbell, the sales & PR head is one of the best people you will ever meet.
