360 Public Relations is a wonderful place to intern. Their clients, ranging from Snuggie to Turbine (World of Warcraft Online) to Earth's Best Organics, are fun to work with and fascinating. As an intern, I feel that my responsibilities are very similar to those of an Account Coordinator or even Assistant Account Executive. I have been able to sit in on client meetings, pitch to bloggers and traditional media outlets, and get involved in projects around the office that interest me. Evergreen Partners is good for experience. The hours are fair and flexible, as it is a small office. The women in the office are accommodating and friendly. It was a way for me to get my feet wet.

Prudential is a large company, so the experience can be a little bit overwhelming. I worked on a small team of about 8 experienced employees, all of whom were knowledgable and willing to help me learn the computer system and the website builder. I enjoyed my time at Prudential, and I would recommend this internship. Along with hourly compensation, Prudential is also willing to provide either free parking or a mass transit stipend. There is also a gym in each center in Newark, and for a small fee, employees have unlimited usage and access to fitness classes at no charge. ...

I applied for an internship at Harron & Associates. What I ended up doing was working as a manual laborer/office manager/personal assistant. My boss actually asked me to come to her home so I could help her unload some personal items when we were transitioning into a smaller office space. I asked many times to work on a writing assignment, such as pitching. I was never allowed to pitch or even create media lists.
