It's fitting that Schneider Associates' specialty is launching new products and services, as it felt like a great place to launch a career in public relations and marketing. As a Social Media Intern, I worked directly with the Social Media Coordinator, the agency's top management and all of the in-house professionals, all of whom were warm and eager to have interns help. I knew it was going to be bad when Dilbert appeared on the daily Intranet.
Despite the mostly lovely staff, I do not recommend interning for this company. Their business model is old and outdated, their business structure is slow-moving and archaic, and their currently being sold by their parent company, Reed Elsevier. If you're a high-tech consultant with a lot of energy and resources, I hope you're able to make innovative changes. If you're not, you may want to consider interning with a leader instead of a follower.
