I learned so much doing the Supervalu internship. It is one of the most structured internships in community pharmacy and is a great opportunity for students to get experience doing things other than working as a tech, especially after the first professional year. I highly recommend establishing a relationship with the clinical specialist in your area and working with them to get experience doing MTM, diabetes programs, and other things. The manual is great and will be a good resource for the rest of school.

This is a great internship! I would recommend it to anyone. One word of advice is to do your homework, and make sure you pick a store that is known to have a helpful preceptor working there. Ask students who have already participated in the internship to recommend a good store.

I highly recommend this internship. I learned a lot and was able to apply that knowledge to help customers. I think this internship also gave me a good background to help me start my P2 year.

Awesome program!. The pay is great and the program is actually fun. Not only do you get retail experience but you get to learn about numerous disease topics and OTC products which is helpful during school. I would definitely encourage other pharmacy students to participate in the internship.
