I really enjoyed my time at the Fort. I was able to observe and be a part of real situations that a typical advertising agency is faced with.
Some of the tasks included designing brochures and banners for current clients, answering the phones, preparing for client meetings, researching and developing content for an interactive travel website, and yes, making coffee. :)
The best part of all is that the people are awesome. You really feel like part of a family there!

The worst internship I've ever had. If you are looking to make coffee and become the receptionist they can't afford then this is for you!
However, if you are looking to gain any real world experience stay away. It's by far the most boring agency I've spent time at and the staff are disrespectful and flat out ignore you.
Not once did they look at my book or have me fill out any internship paperwork.
Very unorganized and a waste of time.

The Fort was a great experience for a student trying to find his/her way into the world of advertising. Got a chance to help out with layouts, sit in on meetings, brainstorm and get a few games of ping pong in along the way.
The people at the Fort were amazing and extremely easy to get along with. Lunch outings for burritos was always a solid time. They were always willing to help out and understood that you were trying to learn new skills and were patient with you.

My internship at Fort Franklin has been great real world experience. I've sat in on brainstorming sessions, focus groups and new business discussions. I record notes from focus groups, research information for clients, and try to get involved in any way possible.
The environment and people at Fort Franklin are what define the agency; they are one big family. They're a welcoming and friendly bunch, always including the interns at every opportunity. One girl would bake cupcakes for birthdays and always made enough for the interns; I'm not going to lie, they were they were pretty delicious ...

Well, I'm not a coffee drinker and unlike others, I actually had never made coffee before my internship here, so I viewed it as an important life skill I learned.
But, in addition to coffee, I got to sit in on creative meetings, and give my own input when I felt confident enough. They all went out of their way to give me advice and try to include me. Only being there two days a week makes it hard to keep up but they did their best! Occasionally I was pulled into the Account Managers office to help ...
