I can't say enough about my experience. I felt more like a short-term employee than an intern. My summer involved absolutely no grunt work; everything I did was related to communications or writing. To top it off, I was paid for my work. I met many people who will hopefully serve as networking contacts in the future. Everyone I asked to speak with was more than happy to make time to meet with me and discuss my career goals. I was lucky to have an amazing manager who was always sure to give me "real work" that I could leave ...

Interning at EMC is actually fun most of the time. My manager was hilarious and would treat me like a peer rather than a depository for pointless tasks. I ate lunch with executives, met interns from all over the globe, and attended a dinner party with employees.
The managers within the intern program are all amazing teachers. There is freedom to explore multiple career paths and there is a tremendous opportunity to network with helpful and encouraging people. This year I suggested that EMC re-design their facebook page.
