At first I was nervous because there was no office or a place to meet but it actually turned out better than I expected. I was able to work at my own pace and in my own desired environment. This internship provided me with a great insight of the real world while writing about an enjoyable topic. I really did learn a lot about a topic that I had no idea. Great internship!

I really enjoyed this internship because it opened my eyes to the opportunities beyond just writing or just publishing, but all the little things that you may not see at first glance. Being an intern for Bier Magazine helped me develop what I see myself doing after college and really was a taste of the real world. It was also exciting to be able to be to intern for the magazine from Colorado, even though the magazine headquarters is located in New York. The internship was overall a great experience.

Hours were extreme;ly felxible. All of the actual writing was done at home on my own time, which was great. Gained entrance into some fantastic festivals and events which I actually got to write about and get published. I got to write press releases, bar reviews, feature stories, profiles, and attend photo shoots, festivals, beer expos and bars. I learned so much about beer and the beverage industry as well as journalism and the writing field. Definately a great internship to work for. Everything is hands-on and there is almost NO gruntwork (You'll never get anyone's coffee...but you might have ...
I liked that I learned about beer. I had no idea there were so many types of techniques and styles. I'm glad I had the chance to actually write. I felt like the editor trusted me enough to cover events. All I did at my last internship was get coffee and make photo copies. Now I know I definitely want to pursue my career in the food & beverage industry.
