I just want to make it abundantly clear that, as a previous intern at Gray and Rice, it is completely obvious that the rating below was written by the employees at Gray and Rice-- not the interns. Not one intern who has ever walked through those doors would say anything even resembling the post below. Just thought all you prospective internship seekers might want to know!

I think this internship STRONGLY gives a real life outlook on the PR industry.
It is a great first internship to get your feet wet in the industry and the office couldn't be more comfortable. They are very willing to help, explain, and everyone is at your disposal/willing to help an intern.
I worked directly with the vice-president and felt like I got a fair share of responsibility and was comfortable with working independently. This internship is great if you can take a strong role, you get what you give. You learn a lot of useful knowledge ...

Basically, Gray and Rice tricks you in to becoming an unpaid telemarketer by advertising this internship as a PR internship, when really you end up working for their basically made up "sister company" called BestofTradeShow.com. You spend basically all day every day making cold calls to company presidents in an attempt to garner new business for Gray and Rice. Expect to get hung up on. often.
While I think the internship coordinator/Vice President means well, she is BEYOND disorganized and acts as though giving you a task other than making calls (i.e. doing something on Excel) is an absolute ...

As someone who has heard horror stories before, held a previous internship, graduated from college & held a job - I would consider this internship a good learning experience.
I am a previous Gray and Rice intern, who stumbled across this posting, so I just had to quickly weigh in and be fair. (I ended up at Gray and Rice because I had been laid off. I was not there to earn college credits.)
