The IALI summer program actually places you in DC internships. I was placed in Chris Dodd's presidential campaign. I got to go to debate rallies, MSNBC tapings and had a great experience. The only downside was it was difficult to get in/keep in touch with my IALI internship coordinator, but my actual internship was awesome.
