I highly recommend this internship for anyone who is interested in community pharmacy. The Supervalu internship in the Chicago market (Jewel Osco) allowed us to experience all of the clinical services available to our customers, talk one-on-one with pharmacy leaders and get exposure to all of the various career opportunities.

My summer internship with Jewel-Osco (SUPERVALU Pharmacies) was great! I was able to be an extra person at my pharmacy, so I was able to focus on my interests. I took advantage of that by getting involved in the clinical services the pharmacy offers, such as blood glucose screenings. I also was able to experience the various clinical programs that Jewel-Osco has established. For example, I saw MTM sessions, diabetes seminars, glucose monitor instruction sessions, and eating healthy with diabetes grocery store tours. I would not be able to experience many of these events had I not been a part ...

I enjoyed the experience I got with the Jewel-Osco summer internship program so much that I was an intern for 2 summers!! It truly gave me a taste of what being a clinical pharmacist in the retail setting entails. I had positive interactions with all my preceptors and other Jewel-Osco employees, especially because they were so eager to teach. The internship provided me with the opportunity to counsel patients and be a pharmacist under supervision. I highly recommend the internship program to all pharmacy students.

This was one of the best experiences in my pharmacy career. I learned so many new things about pharmacy in general and about communicating with patients. This internship really was all about helping you get the most in every aspect and constantly allowed me to learn more each day. I could not have been happier with the internship or company.

This internship allowed me to take what I learned from my classes and apply them to real world settings through working in a retail setting as well as helping out on various health screenings the company provided. I would recommend this internship to anyone.
