Not only the best internship I've ever had, but the best job I've ever had, as well. The team at GG is friendly, creative, and smart. They care deeply about what they're doing and about what others are doing in the world. And, best of all, they treat each intern with the utmost respect, and they take full advantage of the fresh ideas and energy that young professionals bring to the table. I also made a lot of great professional connections by working there.

GlobalGiving is a special organization that is attempting extraordinary things (ie to change the nature of charitable giving). For students interested in the future direction of philanthropy, this is a wonderful place to learn about how to build a transformational organization. Its business model is unique, and successfully leverages tactics from both the private and non-profit sectors.
To be clear, an intern should realize that GlobalGiving is enabling international development projects - but it is not a place where you will work on the ground, managing projects in a developing country.
Overall; great place, great experience.

I loved my internship at GG not only because of the cool concept behind the organization, but also the work given to interns. At GG, I was asked to perform substantial analysis (and that experience helped me a lot when I got back to school). What made it different was that there was no fluff and no hand holding - I was asked a question that everyone was interested in knowing the answer to and I was given the freedom to figure it out on my own.
