My internship at the Louisiana Justice Institute ended up being one of the most profound experiences of my life. In my capacity I was working with people whose homes were destroyed in Hurricane Katrina and have still been living in trailer parks. My initial task was to go around the trailer park in Baker, Louisiana (about 45 minutes outside of New Orleans) and take a survey of the people in the park and provide them with information about various resources they could use to move out of the park.
